As some of you may know, I'm currently in my final year of study at Limerick School of Art & Design, doing a Degree in Sculpture & Combined Media. For the past year or so my work's been based around games, and my first video "GameFace 9" was exhibited last April.
Here's what I'm working on at the moment. What I'm trying to do with this is to take the language and lexicon on Yu-Gi-Oh! from it's natural setting (the game) and place it out there in the wider domain. This is done by deconstructing the game so that only the words remain. What I'm hoping is that somebody who has no knowledge or awareness of Yu-Gi-Oh! will see this and go "hmm.. this is interesting. I wonder what they're doing, it seems to be a card game of sorts". I got that reaction with "GameFace 9" and I'm hoping that when this work is complete, I'll get a similar response.
Any feedback you may have is most appreciated, so feel free to leave a comment.
Please note that this is a work in progress, and that there are a few errors in the video.

It works really well because even though I knew what they were talking about, when I viewed it as a non-Player I find myself wondering what are they talking about at first, but when the words come out I feel like they are talking about a card game. Nice work =D
Thanks mate, much appreciated.
In looking over it again, I quite like how it goes red during the Battle Phases :)
So what else can I do to screw up your day?
Zombie World.
No...Copycat.
Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.
It's not Solemn, It's not Solemn.
roflmfao
I really like it ;)
This is really great, love this type of thing, GL with the rest.
I really like it, it's neat.
There's some drumming on the desk around :20? I don't know if you can, but it'd be neat if you could incorporate that into it somehow.
Also, I feel the last comma after yeah should be a period to help with closure that I don't think is there.
i liked it, only noticed after i watched it but you say ballsy alot haha. pretty cool
Yes, at around 0:20 I believe my opponent is brumming his deck against the table, to keep it organised.
Also, the original file (in Illustrator) had another bit after the 'yeah' at the end, and the comma was embedded with that word, something I couldn't remove without having to go back a few steps.
*drumming (typo obviously)
That was pretty cool, i rofled at the "ballsy" part, and it really does seem interesting when viewed from a non-player perspective because it makes you want to know more.
I like it, watched it twice didnt get the screen turning red at first.
Overall its pretty cool.
I like.
only suggestion is the ending, maybe needs a little something to finish it off.
Other than that, good job!
