About UkayPro Championship:

The UkayPro Championship is Britain’s largest unofficial Yu-Gi-Oh! tournament series, with this being the second hosting of the event. The first event was held in Manchester in July of 2009, with over 200 players coming from all over Europe to play for prizes ranging from electronics to specially commissioned playmats. After 8 rounds of intense dueling and a gruelling Top 16 playoff, Abid Arshad defeated Simon Ho to become the first ever UkayPro Champion. The event quickly gained a reputation for being “an event for the players, by the players,” and is considered by many to be the European equivalent of the famous SHONEN JUMP Championships of North America.

National Qualifier Information:

• UkayPro Championship Sheffield will be the first UK and Ireland National Qualifier of 2010. National Qualifiers offer qualification spots to the UK & Ireland National Championships for the top finishers. The number of players to receive such a qualification depends on the number of participants. For each 8 participants, there is one qualification.

(i.e.: if 80 people attend, there will be 10 qualification spots available.)

• These qualifications will be issued to the tournament’s top-finishing players with permanent residence in either the UK or Ireland. If foreign players participate in a National Qualifier and finish high enough to receive a qualification, that qualification will be passed down to the next player in standings instead.

• Apart from the exception stated above, qualifications will not be passed down under any circumstances, even if an already-qualified player earns an additional qualification.

• 8 official Konami playmats will be handed out to the top 8 SWISS finishers.
