FAQ for YCS Germany is up!



Europe's first ever Championship Series event, YCS Bochum, is less than a week away. For the full rundown of the event, prizes and helpful information, read on below..

These are big, exciting 2-day events that take place from Saturday to Sunday. Duelists from all over will attend these events to compete for exclusive prizes and spend the weekend Dueling, trading, and hanging out with hundreds of other Yu-Gi-Oh! fans.
In addition to the main Championship Series tournament there are numerous Public Events, including tournaments specifically for Duelists aged 13 and under. Competitive or casual, there is something for everyone to do at a Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series weekend event.


Who can participate in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series?
The Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series tournament is an open event. No invite is required – everyone can participate!

Event Structure
The Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series will be Advanced Constructed format.
The Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series’s first day will consist of a number of Swiss-style rounds, dependant on the number of participants, as follows:

For Day 2, the top 128 players will play another 2 rounds of Swiss. After those Swiss rounds, there will be a cut to the Top32 players, who will continue to play in Single-Eliminiation mode until a winner is determined.
There will be a playoff match for 3rd place.


Entry Fee and Prizes
The entry fee for this event is 20 €. For this entry fee, each participant will receive 5 boosters of Duelist Revolution. Apart from the title of “Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series Winner”, players will compete for many other cool prizes, as follows:

KONAMI offers many exciting activities during those two days, namely a feature match area where you can watch the top Duels of the main event, and a wide selection of Public Events, ranging from casual to highly-competive events. Among others, there will be:

Duelist League – casual League play for young players
Win-a-mat – some fine and limited gamemats to win (e.g. YCS mats)
8-player-single elimination events
A “King of Saturday’s Public Events” final on Sunday, open to everyone who came first in any Public Event on Saturday
Dragon Duel – for players born in 1997 and later; no qualification needed and cool prizes provided
Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series Trial – offering travel sponsoring and accomodation to the next European YCS
With all those attractions, attending the Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series will be a thrilling experience for everyone!
