Is it strange that I'm disappointed by this? I understand that the target audience is not current players, but it'd be nice if the sleeves at least featured Utopia, or they had a cool play mat or something. The Japanese release of this was pretty cool by comparison, had a few promo XYZ monsters including XXSaber Invoker. Looks like Konami missed an opportunity to release new product.
You're not the only one disappointed. Granted, the Japanese Duelist box is super, but I heard it costs about 100$, so it's not that appealing to new players...
This release is clearly aimed at new players. The starter deck is okay, the duelist pack & sleeves are a good idea. The other included boosters are meh (Seriously, Stardust overdrive? What are they trying to do lately, getting rid of their overstock?).
I'm missing the inclusion of some good promo cards like the OCG Duelist Box (not reprints). Something that will make non-new players want to buy this too... And no, I don't consider an oversized Grenosaurus a promo card. That's just plain garbage... But I suppose it would make a good coaster for my drink!
