Friday Roundup: June 15th

Here's a brief look at some of the most popular stories from around the Yugiweb this week. You can find all the links of note on The Irish Duelist's Twitter page, which is also shown in the live ticker on the right-hand side of this page.

A History of Competitive Play: April-Oct. 2005 (ARG)

"This week I’m going to be bringing you the next installment in the series I like to call “A History of Competitive Play.” This time I will be covering the Shonen Jumps and Nationals that happened between April 2005 and October 2005 or simply, Goat format."

How Do I Take Down Dino-Rabbit? (Konami)

"The Dino Rabbit Deck is consistent, controlling, and adaptable, making it a favorite for lots of Duelists. The duo of Evolzar Laggia and Evolzar Dolkka are extremely tough to handle, threatening to negate big chunks of your gameplan. A Dino Rabbit Duelist can use Rescue Rabbit to Xyz Summon Evolzar Laggia first turn, then Summon Tour Guide from the Underworld next turn, unleashing Leviair the Sea Dragon to bring back the Rabbit; Special Summon a pair of Sabersaurus; and then attack for exactly 8000 Battle Damage.

How do you stop something like that? It’s not easy, but Dino Rabbit can be beaten. Here are three strategies you can use to outplay one of the today’s toughest Decks."

The Evolution of Evols (TCGPlayer)

"If you haven't already guessed, my latest article is about one of my favorite, yet often over looked themes! Evols went almost completely unnoticed until Michael Smith piloted them to a Top 32 spot at YCS Atlanta. He set the stand for most of the decks us Evol Duelists run today, and proved to the world that Evols could hold their own amongst the most popular decks at the Championship level. What's really amazing is that he did all this before the release of Galactic Overlord. Now that Galactic Overlord is legal, Evols are more consistent than ever. While they may not have the speed of a Dino Rabbit deck, they can pull of combos the little bunny could only dream of."

Juarez, Mexico to hose WCQ: Central American Championship 2012 (Konami)

"Duelists from across Mexico and the other Central American countries will descend upon Juarez, Mexico to play in Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc.’s (Konami) Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) Central American Continental World Championship Qualifier (WCQ). Juarez is known as the “gateway to Mexico” and will serve as the gateway to the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG World Championship. The top finisher at this tournament will represent Central America at the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG World Championship in Tokyo, Japan."

Samurai Warlords Structure Deck (Pojo)

"One of the most feared fighting forces in all of Dueling since 2007, the Six Samurai, join forces again to make an impressive and powerful stand in the newest release from Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. (Konami) when the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME Samurai Warlords Structure Deck arrives in stores June 26."
