Friday Roundup: July 20th

Here's a brief look at some of the most popular stories from around the Yugiweb this week. You can find all the links of note on The Irish Duelist's Twitter page, which is also shown in the live ticker on the right-hand side.

Turtle to the Face (ARG)

It was a fairly common practice throughout the room to prepare one-sided burn effects, like those previously mentioned, in order to try and burn out Countdown players before their 20 turn clock ticked away. Interesting side deck choices, like Spiritual Fire Art had been popping up over the course of the last few weeks, but nothing was quite as interesting as the card that was jokingly discovered in the ARG hotel room in Columbus.

Return of the Duelist Preview Part 8: Removal (TCGShiyo)

For the 8th part of my REDU preview I’m going to be looking at all the new Removal cards in the set that don’t fit into any of the other categories that I’ve already covered previously. I’m using the term Removal quite loosely here, referring to cards that destroy, or otherwise cause cards to leave the field, whether they be Monsters or Spell / Trap cards.

Forbidden Discussions (TCGPlayer)

I want to focus this article specifically on the monster cards that are currently Forbidden from the Advanced Format. The Forbidden portion of the list is very interesting to look at, and tends to get overlooked beyond a few borderline cards. What makes this section of the list so interesting is that it can completely remove a certain card from the game.

Sealed Play: How Many High-Level Monsters Should I Use? (Konami)

One of the unique and important aspects of Sealed Play is know which cards you should add to your Deck, and which ones you should leave out. If you have too many of 1 kind of card your strategic options may be limited when you Duel, whereas spreading your combos too thinly means you won’t always be able to make your best plays. This balancing act is especially important when you’re selecting higher Level monsters for your Deck, so here are some things to consider as you make your choices.
